THQ is planning on selling all assets and studios. It has also stated that the studios will remain open, that there'll be no layoffs and that development will continue on Metro: Last Light and Company of Heroes 2.

If it were EA going under I would have the same sentiments, but it isn't. So I hope THQ manages to pull through.

What's worse, Ubisoft seems to be moving in for the assets, according to latest rumors.

Ubisoft!

ARGH!

Better than EA... or Activision.

I don't like it either but at least Ubisoft makes good games still even though their DRM makes me want to kill people.

God no, Uplay is so awful I'd rather go with EA's Origin anyday.

Well, THQ got split asunder and the final situation seems to be the one described here:
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/01/23/fin-thq-sells-off-most-studios-basically-done/

Quoting:
Quote
“The proposed sales of multiple assets is as follows:

    Sega agreed to purchase Relic
Koch Media agreed to purchase Volition and Metro
    Crytek agreed to purchase Homefront
    Take 2 agreed purchase Evolve
Ubisoft agreed to purchase Montreal and South Park

Vigil (Darksiders I and II) didn't get a bid and will be shut down.

Sega got Relic, but not Homeworld (it seems it's in the pockets of Activision/Blizzard) and not DoW.

Sega has Relic? This worries me. And by Metro do they mean Metro: Last Light? I don't want Metro: Last Light screwed up.

Sega publishes the Total War series.  So this is good.

Published. Let's hope they don't mess up Relic's management, and hopefully kick them some monies.

Well Creative Assembly is doing well with being published by Sega so this was probably the best we could get in this situation.

Rune is back!? :o
HIS GHOST!

No he has always been here, creeping from time to time, however it is rare that he ever posts. At least here.

Though TZF is no different either that one is super slow. I lie how everyone thought ME3 would bring it back to life. It did but quickly died, much faster than ME2, ten again ME2 was not a massive disappointment.

TO stay on topic, I have to agree with Rin, I truly do hope nothing happens to Metro, the first game was so good, I would like to see a sequel.
