The General Policy of the Odekkan dynasty is to never war without reason, and to find honorable allies. This seems a harder task than most, as they find they must oppose dangerous ideologies for their own safety as well as to benefit others. With those they do trade with, the Kurg bring to the table some of the most effective Mercenaries for hire, as well as plentiful rare mineral wealth from the dangerous world only they could call home. They dislike weakness in races, however they do not view this as cause for war, but it does cause them to view smaller races like children, or even more delicate than that as even Kurg Children can be considered dangerous predators.
There however have been many conflicts due to misunderstandings much to the Grand-Chief's shame. However attempts have been made to rectify this.
The Vis Dominion:The Kurgs are actively hostile toward the Vis, even if not in any state of war. Skirmishes have happened and the odd raiding warband happens from time to time, always being disavowed by the dynasty as the aggression of independent parties and not condoned by the government. This can be taken as truth, for it is not in Kurgeshan nature to lie, and those found lying are summarily punished. Relations are sub-zero at best. The only way to find Vis in Odekkan space is if they are somehow a rogue element, otherwise relations happen on no level. As long as the Vis follow their Unitarian goals, they are seen as a threat and called Bodeshen in the Odekkan language, meaning Oppressors, as their ideology is seen as such.
The Kaveni Empire:They had battles in the past with they Kaveni as attempts at an introduction were seen as aggression by the Empire, and the Kurgs always meet blow for blow, and so battles continued until understanding was achieved. Currently no real interactions happen between them, the Grand-Chief considers this a failure of relations and has learned from this. This is a great shame as they view the Kaveni positively as one of the stronger races.
The Arcadonian EmpireThe Arcadonians are viewed as strange by the Kurg, besides being seen as one of the weak species in the galaxy, their are viewed suspiciously due to their telepathic powers. However relations are not too bad, and no battles have occured, this can definitely be accredited to the fact that they have little conflicts of interest. The Kurgs being able to live in places that would outright kill most if not all the other known races, makes it convenient for colonization efforts for the always expanding Kurg Population. With the Arcadonian propensity for water worlds, means that in terms of territory, the Kurgs have little they would want, besides plentiful rare metals and minerals associated with living in such extremes.
Iko Republic The Kurgs have little problem with the Iko Republic, and they are viewed positively as one of the stronger races, much like the kaveni. Trade is active between the two, but it isn't as warm as possible due to cultural differences as well as the rampant corruption in the Republic, which the Kurgs view as very dishonorable of the Iko Government.
Coalition States of EarthThough Humans are viewed as one of the weak races, the similarity between humans and Kurgs, at least in appearance, has endeared some within the Dynasty to the Humans. Trade is open, however Humans are viewed with some suspicion due to their reliance on deceptive tactics in war. Despite this though, the first meeting between the two races was considered a great success and is looked back on amusingly and possibly embarrassingly by the humans. This is due to the Kurg Ambassador having been very shapely, and due to cultural differences, what is considered formal wear would be considered very risque by human standards. It is rumored that one of the Humans aboard the space-station where this meeting took place, got a more "private" meeting with the female ambassador, and more than just Cultural knowledge was learned that day.
Snu-Snu is now cannon.Zahati IshkariateThey are viewed with extreme disdain, much like the Vis, and a threat to the galaxy. They do recognize their warrior culture, which is seen as their only positive attribute. However they are considered a weak race with a foolish ideology. Another saving grace for them is their distaste for the Vis which, would allow for a temporary alliance if such a thing were required. In the Odekkan Tongue they are called Fodlecca, or Doomed fools. Beyond this though, there is no trade or communications, however that is not to say small groups of Kurgs may not have converted to their religion due to the Kurgeshan culture being so very diverse, if not in only tiny numbers, and such Kurgs would be exiled and threaten with death if they ever returned.
Taurgit CollectiveI would have to say Kurgs would have a positive relation with the Space Lions, if mike lets us put them in game. I hope he joins.
