So I just got one today and I must say I'm quite impressed. Grabbed a 32gb version with ATT wireless so far no problems, it runs real quick for what it is. It's a little awkward to type on initially but once you're used to it and have it in landscape mode you can actually move almost as fast as a real keyboard. Despite being an apple product I'm glad I made the purchase, gonna test out the 3G capabilities tomorrow but from the looks of it it's gonna destroy my iPhone's signal quality. Oh and FaceTime on this thing is awesome the clarity is great and I havent experienced any sound to audio lag. HOWEVER, Steve Jobs is still a megadouchebag since there is STILL no flash capabilities (yes I knew that when it came out) so there's something to whine about there. Now one of my favorite things on this is the iTunes interface, its streamlined but is a considerable GUI upgrade from the iPhone and iPods allowing you to browse your music considerably faster along with much more precise categorizing of song types. Technically speaking it's not a massive leap over the first iPad, however, the integration of high res rear camera with 30fps video capabilities is, to say the least pretty cool. Battery life is awesome 10hours of web use on wifi 9 on 3G, 1ghz processor, 1024x768 Res screen at 132pixels per inch. Overall a solid piece of equipment.
So Pros and Cons
Pros:
Lightweight (3G version 1.35lbs)
App store
Landscape and portrait lock ability
Large keyboard
FaceTime
iTunes interface
10 hours of battery life
9 inch 1024x768 smudge resistant touch screen
Full 720p video capabilities with 5x digital zoom.
1ghz A5 duo core processor
iBooks
Cons:
Apple (biased joke)
No flash
Slightly awkward keyboard
FaceTime doesn't work on 3G
So yeah, overall I'm glad I now own an iPad 2. I would suggest it to anyone with the funds to buy one since they are a bit pricey.
And yes. I did type all of this on my iPad 2
Deal with it.
