At the VERY least, they obviously want this and/or simply don't give a gently-carress, because they're being suspiciously quiet about the whole deal.
Might be EA trying to sell their new Origin store. Put a highly anticipated game on it, and it's bound to get some extra use.Eh. I don't really see the issue, most places you can buy a hard copy, and if you can't, there are other digital retailers.
Cutting them out of a release like Battlefield 3 is a very good way to ensure that they lose the upcoming battle to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.It's also a good way to piss off a lot of PC gamers who don't want to add yet another digital download service.
Because that's so important. The market is already oversaturated with shooters. One series dying will be a good thing. Is it really that hard to download from something that isn't your main service? Will Steam get angry at you for cheating on it?And yes, I know I'm being pissy, but I haven't gotten any sleep and these reasons make no sense to me, damn it.
As Mikethor said, having one download service is simply more convenient than having to manage a half dozen or whatever the case happens to be.And yes, it would be good if Call of Duty died off as it has a complete stranglehold on the rest of the shooter market. But that's my opinion.
And an up vote for Captain. Ahem. Opinion on possibly not having it on steam, doubt that will happen, EA loves money to much to pass up that large of a sales possibility .
They love money soo much they took Crysis 2 down.
That was Valve's decision I believe, not EA.
<CaptainJean-Luc> Doc: You have ruthlessly high standards.
So they say at least. Also: it may have been Valves decision to remove it due to terms of service but that doesn't mean that EA didn't choose to not abide by the terms of service...
