"Thank you, we shall leave in an hour. That will give the oxen ample time to feed." Issa replied as he entered the tent

"I must say, this is an impressive camp. Your tent is quite exquisite." The older Gandalfr said
"One of the privileges of having noble blood in your veins, my friend."the woman said with a light smugness. "Make yourself at home. I have to keep these peasants in line."she said, then walked away with her wolf to anoher part of the camp.

The three men looked around the tent. From the entrance where they were standing, there was about a fifteen meter distance to the other side, and it was filled with wooden furniture of different kinds - chairs, a pair of tables, a large bed; all with beautifl carvings that made them look very expensive. On a couch with red cushions were two unarmored war dogs sleeping, and a few meters away from them a hawk was sitting on the armrest on a chair. The bird and the dogs seemed to be General Hroki's private pets.

Keep calm and move along.

"Disgusting, how can they live with themselves? Living in such luxurious while their soldiers suffer?" Saito thought as he say down on a chair

The Undead made way for the Bone giant who had torn up a a tree, to use as a battering ram against the gates, the Giant Began to ram the gate and it began to buckle, the city would soon be over run, probably by the end of the day.
The Giant knocked down the Gate and the undead Swarmed in, and began to combat.

What wasn't expected was the traps, the Logs and boulders, they rolled into the troops, entrapping the skeletons beneath, but the horde continued on unfazed, the giant lumbering behind.

The Lich began casting bolts of chaotic energy into building with enemy troops flushing them out with the explosive energies, thee Dead King rode upon his mount sweeping through the retreating troops, his Grimstone Halberd Cleaving men in two, sweeping through multiple men at once with the force behind it.

"Continue on to the Castle, We shall force the Lord to join us...."

Time passed and the undead soon had swept the whole city, and now surrounded the Castle, where they would finish off the final bit of resistance.

It was awful quiet as the entered, in fact the resistance was so minimal that the Undead King Remson entered on his own easily slaying anything in his path, as the arrows and bolts cracked or deflected off his GrimStone Plates.

As he cut down the final guard to the main hall, he realized it. The enemy Lord had already evacuated. He looked and saw the empty throne.

It wasn't empty though, it had an after image of the King, in a defiant pose. A sweep of his Enchanted Halberd finished off the enchantment.

"Damn.....Well the City is ours...it would have been nice to kill him and force him to govern as an undead lord...but it seems this will be a part of my dominion now...."

The High Lich Priest floated into the Room, and he noticed something, a dead Mage, possibly the Lord of Dirge's personal court mage. It seems though that the Mage had been smart and took amnesia potions to ensure he could not be interrogated if brought back as an undead.

"Shall I have fun...with this Corpse?...." The Lich Priest asked.

"Yes....take the corpse, and empty minded Lich will be easy to train..." Skeletons came in the room and dragged the body out.

Now it was time to go about redecorating, and the enemy troops would be bound to the will of the Mad Lich, and forced to work now. To morrow they would start chopping trees, wood will be needed for ships, that would please Theras in his want of a View of the sea.

"I could bring you there, if you wish so. But it's in the far east corner of the kingdom, are you sure you want that?" Ylera asked

"Captain Stettin," he indicated the giant in full plate, "Would like to go, I shall stay here, and discuss trade."

Dahere, the Royal Palace.

"General! What in the name of the Mother possessed you to withdraw!? You're supposed to defends the city! Keep its peace!" General Bealian shouted as he stormed across the chamber, with the steel of his boots clattering as he moved on the stone floor, and his fist raised to point an accusing finger at general Alean; a man who so far had kept his temper in check, but was not looking rather frustrated.

"I withdrew my troops, general"
Alean spoke with a harsh tone, while facing the younger general with a cold glare. "Because if I hadn't this massacre would still be ongoing, and all I'd have to show for it would be a higher death-toll."
He finished.

Bealian didn't flinch, and opened his mouth again to speak. "You're a co-..." He began, but interupted by a sharp "Enough!" spoken by high priestess Kiyona. "What done is done, Baelian. This couldn't have been avoided, troops or no." She added as calmly as she could manage. "The question we should ask right now is not what happened with the troops, or who withdrew them! But what will happen now. How long until they retaliate? We must appease the followers of the Two-paths, tell them this was a terrible, terrible incident."

"And what, exactly, would that accomplish priestess?" Another elf spoke, general Morolan. "It will not stop their council! Or their lords from striking at us" He approached the trio. The priestess sighed, turning her head to glance at the general. "No, it won't save us from the lords, but appeasing their populations may delay their militia to form. It would give us time." She explains, trying her best to stay calm. "I know that we cannot delay them forever. And, Mother forgive us, I also know that by the end there will be many more of her Children who will shed their blood before this is over..."

Sicranniye Kelmoriel sighed deeply in his throne as he listened to the continuing arguments and blame-casting of his trusted servants and friends. They were right of course, in being upset and terrified, the thought of a struggle with The Two Paths drained him too. He knew that, by the end of this metting, he would have to make a decision that everyone in the room already knew, but feared to say outloud. The decision to prepare for war.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dahere, the city. One day Prior.

Fiandel ran. He ran as fast as his legs would carry him through the narrow alleys behind Aluin Square. Chaos; everywhere around him chaos. Shouts and screams, noise and a taunting chant "Heretic! Heretic!", and bodies, countless of bodies and people everywhere; also running for their lives, or chasing, pursuing and attacking others. The heavy beating of his own heart, and the breathing of his burning lungs lay as a constant noise that drowned out all other --- He had to get away from it all.

He saw a girl, she couldn't have been older than a few decades, who lay sprawled on the cobbled ground infront of him; silver hair soaked red by her own blood as it seeped out of her skull. She looked at him; a blank stare of amber that lifelessly bore into the back of his head, and forced him to pause.

A split seconds pause was broken by the sudden cracking noise of breaking wood, and Fiandel reacted by instinct. He threw himself forward, and dove beneath a falling log from a building; smoke and cinders thrown into the air as a burning roof came crashing down into the alley. Fiendel struggled back to his feet, but he slipped on the ground as he stumbled forward; coughing violently as he dodged more falling wood, cinders and fire. Something struck his arm, and he heard himself grunt from the pain, but he managed to keep himself moving.

His eyes watered up; the smoke and heat burning, and everything blurred up for a moment before his stumbling feet finally carried him to an opening in the destruction around him.  Rounding a corner he thought that he had avoided the worst of it, and he continued down this new alley, but adding to his panic he now heard shouts behind him. "There's a runner! Get him!". Without looking back Fiandel desperately sucked more air into his lungs and darted through a small garden; turned left and around another corner and....

Something struck the back of his head, and he strumbled down onto his knees. The whole world spun, and a metallic taste quickly spread in his mouth -- blood --- all the noise around him drowned out completely by a heavy pounding of his skull. He felt distant, numb, as his body continued to struggle forward; a desperate movement that caused all of his limbs to ache. Another blow came; this one over his back, and with a sickening wet crack as he was knocked down against the stone. He screamed as agony wracked his body; surging through his back and down into the arms and chest, and with a spasmic movement he coughed again; a red mist leaving his mouth.

Time seemed to stand still, only for a moment, and Fiandel saw a blurr of movements around him, and blackening fields in the corner of his eyes. He gasped and exhaled, and then, then he saw nothing...

Dant looked ofter the small battlefield, 19 enemies were killed, 4 taken prisoner and 1 managed to escape. His own men had suffered 6 losses of life and 8 wounded.

"Within a half day of travel lies Dragonskull hall, Home to Barones Reyna of house Stokes. She is a friend of my family, She will welcome us and take care of the wounded."
Turning his head away from his own soldiers and towards his prisoners he now spoke louder.

"I also heard there are excellent dungeons in the castle...."
"Goodbye Sir Dant! I hope you return safely from the undead lands!"
Barones Reyna said, she had given Dant new supplies and horses for his prisoners. The men who hired the sellswords was siting on a horse and the woman who led them on a horse behind him. The horses where trained for transporting prisoners and would simply follow Dant's horse.

The other prisoners would be taken south by a local knight who volunteerd for the task.
"I have a long road to go, Farewell mylady." With these words Dant started his journey. To the Undead lands.....

After a short while, Issa, Saito, and the old Gandalfr went back to their bulls; the commander of the camp escorting them there.

"I must thank you for the short stay, we appreciated it, but our alliance offer must be presented soon; lest another Kingdom beat us to it." Issa said, getting onto his chariot
Issa whipped his bulls with the reins of the chariot, immediately making them ride of into the air on webs of lightning created by their hooves.

"Next stop; Nengiem." The old Gandalfr said
"You accept darkness, yet choose to live in the light. So why is it that you loathe us who teeter on the edge of nothing? We, who were turned away by both light and dark - never given a choice?"

Now it was time to go about redecorating, and the enemy troops would be bound to the will of the Mad Lich, and forced to work now. To morrow they would start chopping trees, wood will be needed for ships, that would please Theras in his want of a View of the sea.

Trees were piled out side the city as the deforestation began of Dirge.

The Undead had been busy spoiling the lands, pouring Bile from the Zombies they had herded into the lands, to vomit their Bile and spread there disease onto the land making it useless to the living.

The Process would take time, but the land was already mutating and corrupting the fauna beginning to die off and mutate, or zombify.

All this was beign overseen by Remson, who was all to glad to act in the name of the Mad Lich, as the More he did, they more influence he gained, soon he could bring sway to the Legions, and maybe he could lie to the Mad Lich and convince him to let Remson make war on them.

Remson had plans, and an opportunity he never had in life, and he realized what an improvement being one of the dead was. Humanity, and all Humanoids, were simply a Larval state to something that lasts even longer, Death.

For Now he had ship to build, but first he would stockpile wood for the job.

The dawn came over the desert...the light slowly shining forth and revealing the land in a dazzling brilliance. The Osmans were just getting up, happy to just sit the siege out and let the trebuchets do the work. They lazily went about boiling water and making stew, obviously in no rush and content to just sit and watch the fortress take its hits. A few Osman gunners made a small inspection of their guns, Altmark 12-pounders, gifts given to aid in their war. A few archers had even been given Altmark muskets, which were stacked against each other nearby, unloaded.

Suddenly a horseman appeared on the crest ahead, the sun rising behind him and half-blinding the Osmans. At first most of the Osmans paid no attention to the horseman, as he was no threat. However he then shouted "Let God decide today who will prevail and stand victorious! God be with us all!"

Suddenly, as from a dream, the crest filled with soldiers. The Osmans stood...in shock, as the Crusader army filled the horizon. The Osman gunners scrambled to swerve their guns to face the enemy, and frantically began loading roundshot into the cannon. The Crusaders marched on, steady and unflinching, with formations of pikemen, spearmen, swordsmen, halberdier/muskets as well as formations of men with many different weapons. The Osman gunners fired their cannons, five shots streaking towards the Crusaders. The Osman gunners however will ill-trained and ill-disciplined, and fired in panic. Four shots missed. One hit, crushing Crusaders and scattering their broken bodies away, but the Crusaders just closed formation and kept marching, getting very close. To the Osmans, they seemed indestructible.

The Crusaders, having closed the distance, charged. They yelled defiance and victory as they slammed into the panicked Osman army, making short work of any Osman in front of them. Some Osmans, the brave few, chanted back defiance and encouraged their cohorts into fighting back. Some still fled, but others stood and fought. The battle lasted for four hours, the Crusaders steadily pushing back the Osmans, and the Osmans slowly losing their will to fight. Muskets fired and bladed weapons clanged against metal or pierced flesh. The two armies fought on and on, the Osmans steadily stepping back over their dead, slowly beginning to give way to the superior Crusaders. They would not hold much longer.

Suddenly, to the Osmans left, appeared the calvary, mounted Outremer Knights, with tabards of tan and rouge and with the Crusader Cross embroidered on the tan areas. The Knight leading the other Knights unsheathed his sword, raising it in the air before yelling "God has given us victory this day!". The other Knights cheered before lowering lances in the front ranks, while the other ranks unsheathed their swords. The Knights trotted forward, slowly picking up speed in the gallop, before they went into the full-charge at the last minute, yelling in defiance. The full weight of the charge smashed into the demoralized Osmans, slaughtering all Osmans who were unfortunate to be in their way. The Osmans, who were already close to breaking, finally broke. The Osman army completely routed and began running for their lives, dropping anything that might slow them down, weapons, armour and anything that supposedly hindered them. The Crusaders cheered in victory, with the fortress's garrison's own cheers being heard. The Knights gave chase, pursuing the broken remnants of the Osman army, before being recalled. The Crusaders continued to cheer on as the Osmans ran, that army to never fully recover.
I'm back people...

Vathae, High seat of the Council of the Two paths.

"Don't be a fool Tenevel! You've known Kelmoriel for centuries; he couldn't possibly have given the order to kill countless civilians." Councilor Avaliel called out across the council chamber. She was the last one to still oppose a war, her land was sure to be devastated, and had so far refused to sign the parchment held in Tenevel's hand. "He doesn't have the heart to. Nor is he an idiot."

"I know, Avaliel. I know." Councilor Tenevel said tiredly. "But the people doesn't know that, and they are out for blood. They'll want retribution, and unless we want for open revolts and a second schism we have preciously little choice but to give it to them." He spoke where he stood, meeting his fellow councilor's eyes.

"Consider his generals -- Alean especially -- Avaliel. They are blaming us for provoking the massacre, blind fools as they are, and this despite their high priestess' best efforts to appease both sides. If we don't act first, then they will. They are already massing armies." A third voice spoke. Councilor Faelian, one of the senior members of the council, and one Avaliel had always thought sensible. He was right of course, as much as she hated to admit it this time.

"Please, councilor. We nned your support to have a chance of victory. We cannot afford to stand divided now and lose everything our people desire" Tenevel said pleadingly, appealing to her love for the people. She let out a sigh of defeat, and picked up the delicate quill that lay on the table before her. "Fine... I will sign your damned parchment, Tenevel. Make sure it is not wasted"

The parchment was passed in silence around the table, and after a moments hesitation Councilor Avaliel signed her name below that of the other's on the surface of the document, and added her house's wax seal beside it. After she had signed she slumped quietly back into her seat.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Royal High-road, Two days later.

Liande blinked tiredly at the jungle surrounding the High-road, thick foilage and vegetation as far as the eye could see, and despite this the road was never overgrown; continously cared for and warded by magic so that it could link the cities together.
She had been riding hard and fast for the last two days, first past the plains surrounding Vathae, and now through the deep forest, with an important package in her satchel. She was a courier carrying a message to Dahere, directly to the hands of Sicranniye Kelmoriel from the council; a highest priority message securely held in a leather case.

Both her and Dulahe, her Cevi'Neve mount, were tired and in need of rest from the fast ride. Fortunately she knew this stretch of the road well; and where the nearest courier lodge was. "Come on Dulahe" She says and lean down to pat the neck of her companion, her gloveless hand stroking along the colorful scales. "Only a little further and then we'll rest for the night."

The mighty beast heard his mistress, and responded with a series of high-pitched clicks from his throat, as he continued forward over the steep hill they had been climbing.

Emir Issa's Chariot landed just outside Nengiem, with the bulls pulling the chariot doing their best to stop at Issa's command, but still scorching several meters of unused land from the sheer force of their hooves and the lightning strikes that they rode on.

"Well, at least we didn't scorch anything important this time." Saito thought

"Indeed, I assume your people wish to trade for weapons?" They usually do...

"...and so, I am prepared to issue this declaration of war, with full effect! provided I have parliament's support that is," exclaimed Blackthorne. He was standing in the house of commons, a fine figure ijn his parliamentary finery.

"Are we to assume," asked on of the opposition members, "that the honourable gentleman wishes to declare war on grounds of solidarity with our southern allies? I wasn't under the impression that this was the parliament of the crusader states!"

"No, indeed not, though crusader states money had indeed found its way into this parliament!" that earned a cry of cheers and boos from the opposite sides, "We are going to war with the Osman sultanate because they have threatened our allies and insulted us, and indeed gentlemen, if we do not act the trade will not flow through Osman."

"The trade must flow..." they all intoned.

"Therefore, I unilaterally move to declare war on the Osman sultanate, we will aid our allies in any way we can and secure our trading interests in the region."

The sun began to die down over the battlefield near Kerak. The Crusaders had long collected their dead, and burned the thousands of Osman dead. Tomorrow, after they refreshed their food, water and ammunition they would march on into the Osman Sultanate. The Osman's were on the run...their army crippled, and it would just take one more push before the Osmans would be forced to terms. A detatchment of Outremer Knights would escort the captured 12-pounders back to Krak de Chevalier, where they would be studied and then integrated with the formidable defences of the great fortress-city.

The Army of Outremer returned to their encampment, resting, eating and talking their great victory. They were all eager to crush the Osman's for their impunity...and it would all begin tomorrow.

"Indeed, I assume your people wish to trade for weapons?" They usually do...

Ylera excused herself and made her way towards the harbour.

"Yes. " Levin answered Stettin "I'd also like to offer you a location for a trade house, there is a park in the inner walled part of the city close too the harbour. That land is from now on property of the Altmark Republic."

After saying this he handed Stettin some paperwork. "there are some restrictions on what you're going to build there. Whatever it is, it must be made of stone. And it may not be made into a fortified millitary position.
All Altmark sailers are welcome in taverns as long as they pay their bills and respect the law."

Levin took a deep breath and added: "There are some more rules in the paper, along with a copy of Praof law. This is to be copied and given or atleast showed to the captain of every Altmark ship."

"Capital, we'll make copies of this and distribute it. As for the building we'll start construction as soon as possible."

Kraussm the ship captain spoke up, "There has never been an incident with Altmark trading ships in foreign ports, we try to keep that record clean."

Smith nodded, he was already thinking over shipment times and profit margins, "Now, what fire arms do you have? So we can see where to begin."

The Dead lands were seeing more activity than usual due to the new expansion in territory, the forests were being chopped down, and the wood was being transferred through out the territory of the dead, for use in construction, by having certain places only make certain parts, construction of siege weapons and Ships would go faster as the parts were assembled in other lands and then shipped back to the newly Acquired city of Dirge due to its closeness to the sea, only one more territory would need to be conquered before ships could set sail.

This orde to build ships though is done solely on the assumption that the Mad Lich wants that, for all they know who could only literally want a view of the sea, it was the Undead Lords and Kings duty to interpret and act upon the order as they see fit, as for now the Undead plan to Encroach upon the coast and take more land near the sea.

Another cause of the activity was the process of corrupting the land, which would be done slowly over time.
---------
Meanwhile in the Northern areas of the Dead Lands
---------
The Dead Lord Fergus was gathering troops, he planned to harass the Living to the north, until they were prepared to march on the first city they meet, in order to gain access to the Northern seas.

So far he had gathered Several Undead Giants and dozens of Undead Horsemen Archers, the Giants would be used for demolishing civilian buildings, while the horsemen archers would be good for caravans and patrols, to help ensue some chaos. The Undead cared little for whoever the Traders worked for, but they would make sure the trade roads were absolutely unsafe.

It did not take long before the three saw Navarian wolf riders coming towards them from out the city gates. Both the wolves and their riders wore the same heavy armor they had seen before. The six riders surrounded the chariot and stopped, facing towards them with spears in their hands, but they were raised and not pointed towards the Emir.

A seventh rider, this one's wolf wearing a heavier, more expensive-looking armor, and the man himself had a black bear pelt fastened on his right shoulder, thrown over his left shoulder, around the back of his neck and back over his right shoulder. His head was bald and his face scarred. He had a small patch of facial hair in the center of his lower lip.

"Emir Issa II, I am Tor, son of Haldam."the man said with a raspy tone that spoke of a throat worn down from screaming. "Captain of the Navarian army and commanding officer of the city garrison. A mage in General Hroki's outpost sent a message of your arrival. I have orders to escort you to the castle to meet the queen."

Keep calm and move along.

"Guard." Levin said just a bit louder then normal. In less then 10 seconds a guard stood next to the door and saluted. "Get one loaded musket to the wall and prepare a cannon to fire." The guard bowed deep ran off.

Turning to Smith and Kraussm now he said: "If you would follow me please I will give you a demonstration."
