Here is a cobblestone generator where the piston pushes the generated stone out the front automatically:

The piston is powered by this Repeater Clock:

The device keeps generating cobblestone and pushing it out until the stack grows to 12 blocks.

The idea was pilfered from that Mega Cannon video I posted.

So how far can pistons push a block? Do you put them in front of each other to make them push farther, or something?

How far?  One block. And extended pistons can't be pushed or pulled.

Well right now I'm working on a slime farm in single player.
Going to build a castle on the server... I haven't decided if it is going to be a European or Japanese one yet though.

Such a long time since I have played Minecraft, but I'd say that it was because of the unfamiliar MP environment back when I tried it.
It would be nice if the Game IV had it's own active Minecraft server.

Haven't touched SP in a long time either, as that ship I started to build few months ago is still under construction...

Sadly Minecraft servers are no small thing.  A couple of members run them in their spare time/funds but I don't have the resources to throw at keeping one running.

Ah, that's sad. Didn't have idea that they cost actual money.
Thanks for the answer.

The server software itself isn't the problem right now. The bandwidth and ping time are. Tried running a server here on my desktop. Lag was horrid.

Oh, that's understandable. Just considering the horrible lag most servers have.
Well. let's just hope it is more manageable when the game is patched/updated further.

The big problem with them is processing time and memory on the server.  The requirements are rather high, higher than I would think they should be.

Item Editor+TNT should do the trick, Get unlimited TNT, then fill up a flat plain with dirt :P

There's a much quicker and neat way to do that.

*starts fiddling with mods*

Do you seriously think I'd dig that hole manually using a pick? Or TNT? :P

Digging it by pick would take too long doing it alone. A project of that size is more suited for a multiplayer server, with a group of people pitching in. And running the risk of it getting horribly griefed.

I did say I was fiddling with mods.

Lol, I have already done that on a few occasions.  :D

The problem with that is that this pyramid is "aligned" with the world. In this orientation, I'd need to dump a bucket of lava at every corner of the pyramid, on every level. That's around 400 buckets of lava, I think.

This time I wanted an egyptian-looking pyramid. The top is even made of gold blocks, but it doesn't show up very well.
