Your ridiculously expensive hobbies
« on: June 15, 2011, 04:11:31 AM »
Everyone has them.  What are your ridiculously expensive hobbies?

I have Airsoft, PC Gaming, Tabletop W40K, Anime, and Gun Collecting.
Next paycheck, aka tomorrow, I'm going to be spend around $400 this stuff...

Now I'm curious what everyone else has for their hobbies so please share.

*looks at $2000 worth of axle work*
*looks at $2000 worth of drivetrain work*
*looks at $1250 worth of tires*

Need I go on? :P  (Note: these are all wants, not things that have been done yet)

Tabletop wargaming, currently 3 systems I actively play with a 4th I no longer play.

I don't even want to think about how much money I've spent.
...scum.

I don't think anyone wants to know how much they have really spent on anything.  :D

Gaming on xbox 360.

And playing around on 3dsmax would be another one if I didn't get it for free from autodesk themselves.
Come look at my art.

I've got my Xbox 360 and my snowmobile. An expensive snowmobile. And I don't know how much I've spent on Xbox games.

Keep calm and move along.

PS3, Xbox 360 and PC gaming. I know more or less how much I've spent on Steam...but that's it.

Gaming, mostly.

Drawing can get expensive on the few occasions I decide for more expensive materials. And once I get better at clay modelling... yeah.

My most expensive hobby is probably pen and paper roleplaying.

I'd add photography too, but my equipment is getting old and I'm getting rusty at it too.

PC gaming is the most expensive hobby I have, and it's not really that expensive.
Only the initial investment on gaming computer was expensive, but that's it.

I'm kinda obsessed with Victorian/goth stuff. I have a thing for expensive corsets, and make my own outfits, and it often doesn't come cheap :P

Online gaming.  I've got...  4 accounts amounting to 60$ a month.  General gaming costs, and I try to find time to fly my RC plane.

Table top gaming (poor unpainted Tau). Guns and ammo for said guns. PC and console gaming. Those are probably my real expensive hobbies, which combined with my other vices definitely eat up far too much money.

You're not entirely wrong, though. When I lived in England, by hobby actually was a lot less pricey to pursue.
