Somewhere I heard the magic number is 150 or so, but that doesn't count replayability obviously and there will be plenty of that
Why dont we just say ∞ Hours :P

How well that system works is yet to be seen.  So far, there's so much premade content that I can honestly see myself being occupied for the next 100 hours without any randomly generated quests.

Hmmmm...companion's pathing is bugged, or just plain bad. They keep getting stuck in the scenery, or sometimes simply fail to find a path to me. And sometimes they just go poof.

LOL, You actually use companions? Only thing they seem to be good for is for sacrifice to Boethiah.

Distraction. They sure work to distract the enemy when there's too many on-screen. Give them some good armor and they last even more.

Funny thing is, one of mine actually picked up staves on her own, and then started flinging fireballs, lightning and frost attacks across the battlefield.

Unfortunately, all of the claims in that article are valid, from an interface usability point of view. The game does indeed waste a lot of screen space with useless stuff, plus they took away stuff that worked for no good reason.

Like:

You can't see how your character looks without getting out of the menu.
You have to scroll around the inventory to see what items you have equipped, whereas in morrowind, equipped stuff would come to the first positions of the inventory.
You have to pause the game and get into the menu to see what magical effects are active. Going into the menu to see how many seconds of invisibility are left is just too clumsy. And dumb.
If you click on the menu anywhere but the options, even if it is off by a pixel, it closes off the entire thing.
Sometimes the interface for dialogue is unresponsive, and even if you click on a specific option, the game chooses another.

Where?
It's a quest you get from a guy that walks on the street in Solitude. He almost looks like a dunmer beggar, and talks a bit insane.

When you go through the quest you'll suddenly be whisked away from a sort of abandoned wing of the castle to some sort of parallel dimension.

I was like, "lolwut? where the gently-carress am I?"

I really don't find the interface that frustrating, I thin they're making too much of a minor thing

The interface is annoying. Does it kill the game? Nope. Which is the point of the article.

Add mods that are sure to come and things will get better.

The guy who made DarNified UI has made, or is making a mod to fix most of the issues. Just search it on the Nexus.

I personally don't see what the fuss is about with Skyrim's UI at all.
I find it better than Oblivion's in both smoothness and usability, only thing I'd switch is the item view screen thing with the showing of my player and seeing the armour and items that way.

Other than that it is actually very sleek IMO.
I have literally no idea why the PC community is up in arms about it at all as everything seems to be set in place and there is not like one big screen with about 50 different tabs and a god-awful grid of items, now it's a nice convenient list.
Come look at my art.

Did you read the ARS article linked? It's got a pretty intuitive explanation.

And ya, tabs suck. You've got it backwards though. Skyrim has a bunch of them, Oblivion and Morrowind don't.

Grid vs list is personal preference I suppose, but from a purely practical point of view, the grid from Morrowind lets you see and have access to much more inventory at once than the format from Oblivion or Skyrim. I find myself scrolling through huge lists way too often.

Yeah but PC has the same buttons which the console buttons use plus the added assistance of a mouse and scroll wheel if you have it.
There is no reason why it would be any different for either console or PC as they use the same buttons.

I did read it.
Seemed a lot of bitching about having space available, which to me is personal preference I guess.

I personally prefer lists to a grid, on oblivion on PC I had I liked the list and found it no problem, only thing with Skyrim's lists are they're placed on the screen wrong in the magic section and that's about it for me.
But you also have that favourites thing, which to me is a lot better than the whole hotwheel system in Oblivion, especially on console it shows it's worth, I expect on PC it would have been better to allocate the favourites to a number rather than a list, personal preference all the same.
Come look at my art.
