Just so you guys know, I'll be super busy this week so I won't be able to GM your posts much. I'll try and get you at the end of the night, but I likely wont be able to do a continuous back-and-forth with anyone.

Hey guys, still caught up in finals, just wanted to poke my head in to say that we should all totally duke it out in Stellaris sometime. It'd be like Frontier but more stressfull and with more ass-kickery

You know I once toyed with the idea of having battles decided in this game, then played out in a game like Stellaris and posted here, to give you guys a visual component. But it's way too complicated to do in real-life and would require Rin and I to purchase the same game and coordinate.

Besides, my laptop is old and sucks at most thing's right now, especially games.

So I actually looked up Stellaris and Tobbs is right, it is remarkably similar to our game. Hey Rin you should look up the game, see if there's anything there we could..."borrow" for our game, I already spotted several.

Frontier aside though, we really should duke it out in Stellaris .3.

Only problem I have with its multiplayer is that I get really stressed by not being able to pause as I wish, which leads to fatigue after long sessions -3-

I have only tried a couple single player games, but I think I will have the same problem. I usually play all paradox games pause>ultra speed>pauze>ultra speed>ad infinitum.

Thankfully I already own Stellaris :P

That said, I agree with your assessment, it would be a lot of work to determine stuff in a separate game. It would be dun to play as a seperate game though

Looking back on Empires, I remember there was at one point dragon cavalry within the ranks of my army, which I don't even remember removing. One of the posts even references "XD001" as a secret weapon, which I'm pretty sure was just a Shadow Lugia.

But like, point being, I like being able to do ridiculous excrement in these games: It differentiates it from regular sci-fi. This is why I'm going to have dubstep blaring in the battlefield for every battle involving the Vis, once we actually get to that point.

But the limitation on ridiculousness creates some problems, because I now have no idea how to interact with this potentially highly advanced civilization without an instant translation button >_>
"You accept darkness, yet choose to live in the light. So why is it that you loathe us who teeter on the edge of nothing? We, who were turned away by both light and dark - never given a choice?"

You can just interact with them regularly if you want to, Grif and I aren't really enforcing forcing people to research languages of other empires. Just say you want to do it in game and the first post responding to it will essentially say "3 weeks pass and you have managed to create a basic translation software for the alien language"

I mean, if you want to go crazy in RP, go crazy. The only thing is that once we drop down to combat it goes down to the numbers... whose sole job is to say if you won or lost and by how much. Aside from that, have fun making your guys do backflips on the battlefield while noscoping everything in sight if you win a battle

What Rin said, personally I find space dragons ridiculous, but I do want players to feel free using their unique styles for narrative and events, adds flavour.

Also someone please post, it's been days and surely one of you has time.

I figured reposting it would work. It was right before Necross' before I deleted and reposted it :P

Grif, you should advance your Empires plot points, because otherwise we're just going to go back to me jumping around the sector since we exhausted the current Arcadonian ones.

Sure, though at this point it doesn't have any plot points, other than colonization. Now that the Leticia Crisis is resolved, we should start Chapter 2 and begin NPC contacts. That should get thing's moving.

That's okay Necross, the Swede and the Dutchman seem to have abandoned us. The game is dormant for now, but revival is welcome.
