Well, it's been a bit since I posted, but they made it. Towards the end there was a huge push, and they got around 11G over what they wanted.

The game looks freakin sweet. However, I don't see the indiegogo campaign making it. Hopefully though, it doesn't deter them from continuing.

Once it becomes available for Linux, I think I'll definitely give it a shot.

Gaming Discussion / Bioshock Infinite
« on: July 09, 2013, 01:42:12 AM »
I'm actually surprised this wasn't started sooner. This will basically be a discussion for any Bioshock Infinite related.

I enjoyed the game, I really did, but I do have some complaints. I felt as though some elements were underutilized, and despite it being a lengthy game, it didn't feel like a lengthy game (unlike the previous Bioshocks). As someone who followed the the initial Bioshock Infinite announcements I was a little disappointed by the actual game. I went through the whole game waiting for Elizabeth to get her powers (you know, the ones where she gets sicker the more she uses them). The whole skyline system seemed under utilized despite the amount of focus on it in the early trailers. Then there is songbird, who I felt could have played a much bigger role in the story line than it actually did. The handymen seemed to get dumbed down from their original design as well. I would like to have seen more done with the Vox as well seeing as how it played a big role in the story until you jump realities for the first time (another complaint towards the story). Of course the ending is flawed too, seeing as how there are so many different realities, getting killed doesn't really fix anything despite what Elizabeth says.

Enough for the moment

It's not an easy game to get into by any means. Also one where you either love it, or hate it. The learning curve is something else as well... Anyways, what's your in game name True? Mines the same 'JDog2pt0'

« on: May 26, 2013, 01:16:45 AM »
So I've started playing EVE Online again, and am considering Dusk 514 as well. If anyone plays or wants to join lemme know. The corp I joined is long since dead (I quit playing in 2008), however I might be able to get a hold of the original owner and have him pass it on to me, or just leave it and join a new one.

User News / Glu buys GameSpy; Shuts down MP servers
« on: December 12, 2012, 04:52:57 AM »
Long story short, Glu Mobile buys out GameSpy and then proceeds to shutdown any and all GameSpy powered multiplayer servers. See Halo, SW:BF, Sniper Elite...etc. Then tells the devs to fork over the $ if they want the servers back.

I'm not sure.  It's not really a full on mod.  Either way I've had problems with ModDB in the past.  One of their admins was abusive and they wouldn't do anything about it.  That was back in 2006 but I still don't trust them.

I've seen lesser things on ModDB; sorry to hear about your bad experience though. So are you doing this all by yourself?

Do any of those have pewpew weapons or is it...all bullets? *shudder*

There's three Empires

Vanu Sovereignty - "WE ARE TOMORROW!" The Sovereignty's weapons rely on quickly energizing a splash of plasma-like ammunition that destroys the very bonding attributes of the elements that make up the armor and flesh of enemy forces. (ENERGY)

Terran Republic - "Loyalty Beyond Death" The Terran's weapons focus on killing their opponents using a rapid rate of fire, sacrificing damage for this ability. While their weapons have the highest rate of fire of the three empires, they do not have as much damage on impact. (BULLETS)

New Conglomerate - "Revolution is the path to freedom" Weapon systems designed by New Conglomerate engineers stress nothing more than the brute force they believe is needed to achieve their goals. While these weapons lack the accuracy, refire, and reload rates of the other empires' weapons, no guns can match the raw stopping power and bone-crushing force offered by those of the New Conglomerate. (BULLETS)

Damnit all to hell. I knew I should have started a thread

Can't wait for this to come out. Not sure how I feel about the F2P model, but it's going to be a blast no matter what.

Technology equals might

The second game did take a few steps back in a lot of features, and turned into another CoD me too. Was sadly expected with consoles though....

Yeah, I've got mixed feelings on consoles. On one hand they make gaming more accessible (easier to figure out, cheaper, etc) to the overall public. On the other hand, they seem like they cripple innovation due to the always present hardware limitations. I could say they contribute to the whole copy cat situation we have with the FPS genre right now, but I suspect that if we lived in a PC gaming only world, it would exist there too.

This game is so much better than Crysass 2. Looking forward to replaying it and Warhead again.

Obviously the little bit of concrete is cheaper than the copper wire, otherwise they wouldn't do it. Both are pretty expensive, but I'd say copper definitely costs more.

I missed the whole sign-up earlier. So I don't know if they're going to charge for it now. Either way, I'll obtain it when I'm ready to open up an old wound.

Gaming Discussion / Re: Why Piracy is Killing Gaming
« on: May 27, 2012, 06:12:49 AM »
Haven't watched the video, probably will tomorrow. By torrenting instead of buying I am bypassing the DRM, getting to play the game, and telling them I don't like their practices. How? Not giving them money and that's the bottom line. Then what happens is they push stricter DRM, torrenters still succeed, and more people are pushed away from purchasing. Then they go under. The problem that I'm guessing hasn't been addressed is that no matter which way you go about it, the developers suffer first whether you torrent, or just not purchase the game. The publishers are greedy bastards and are going to make sure they (the publisher) go down last. Other developers will pop up after all.

After watching the video I may edit it slightly. However what's been said is how I pretty much feel on the matter. This is going to be an ongoing issue for sometime. Don't think I'm evil though. I'm more than happy to (and do) buy into indie, Valve, and and any other developers/publishers I support.
