Maybe it was the fact it never had enough fluid to begin with?  I dunno.  Either way...it sounds like it could have easily shorted any board below it.

Yeah, no signs of leaking, but he'd taken it somewhere else before, so you never know. Also, could have been a manufacturing defect.

I think they should've distributed the weight more evenly, the way things are set in that...thing, it'd weight much more on one side than the other. That would be pretty telling. Also, that glue may come off if someone shakes the thing vigorously.

Someone who decided that was a good idea in the first place is probably not terribly concerned with QC! After all, they usually don't answer their phones, if they have them.

The fan on that thing is finicky. If you set a bad profile, or speed setting, the thing does heat up like that.

While I was troubleshooting I connected the pump and fan to a separate 12V supply to run them both at full speed. I'm thinking perhaps it leaked slowly and was running without much fluid in it. It was easier and cheaper to replace the unit than try to disassemble it. Good to know they're not all that bad though.

I like the new case. How is that cooler working for you, what are your full load temps? Idle temps are low, but at load is what counts! One of my clients had an issue with the H100, his i7 was running at around 95C full load, stock clock. I replaced it with an air cooler and it dropped 20C. I'm thinking his H100 was defective, but I'm interested to know your results.

I'm wondering if it's actually cheaper for them to manufacture that elaborate dummy coil than just use a real one. They had to build or buy the case, mix and set cement, and assemble the thing. Is magnet wire really that expensive these days?

What kind of crap is this? You're supposed to take all of the sites down for a week without notice and then give terse, flippant answers when your users demand to know what's wrong!

I'm for it. It would be nice to get some of the discussions going here so that not everyone has to be in-game or on TS to chat. I'm sure there are certain questions/issues/suggestions that people have, and they can't always connect with the appropriate person(s).

Does anyone know what the upgrade options are for machines such as macerators, furnaces, recyclers, etc.? There are four boxes on the right of the machine UI which I'm told can hold upgrades/additions, but it hasn't been added to the wiki yet.
