Before entering into their vehicles, Detective Baste spoke. "Thats interesting, I never would have thought we would have seen a member of their species outside the refugee camps this soon" the detective turning towards the Ki'Jan in black wetsuits as he tried to rack his brain for which government agency they worked for while the vehicle slowly began to pull away
During the battle, the explosives officer, being in the center of the group was the last to fall. The group had fought valiantly and knowing it was the end he used his last dying brain waves to set his thermal charges to blow in an uncontrolled manner. He was going to set the whole building aflame and cause a chain reaction from the rest of the explosives he held on his and his fallen squads persons in addition to any explosions which the flames, heat and kinetic charges may have caused of the items in the basement.
Once the explosion was triggered, he only had enough time to work out a smile before his body and the bodies of his squad were completely engulfed, and thoroughly vaporized by the following explosive forces which expanded outwards to light the building on fire and trigger explosives from various tanks and electrical equipment located within the basement.
Outside the building, several other squads now had the building in their sights and were about to move in when all of a sudden the explosion could be felt under there feet with the sound catching up moments later.
The Sergeant replied "I think they're with intelligence, but what I can't figure out is why they have one of the aliens with them. First the AIP and ASA take jurisdiction, then the spooks arrive with one of the aliens? Am I the only one who feels someone is making a bigger fuss out of this than usual?"
And with the final explosion, it was over. The two xenomorphs were vaporized along with the squad, ending the terror that had befallen the city.
It took the rest of the night to secure the city and ensure no more creatures were hidden nearby. Emergency services and the military then began the cleanup, collecting casualties slowly and gradually allowing the citizens to return to their homes. The final body count was twenty-three dead and fifteen wounded, mostly CSA Tactical and members of the local regiment. It was the deadliest tragedy that involved extraterrestrial lifeforms in Arcadonian colonial history.

Deep down in the depths of the ocean, far below the city and hidden within one of the subterranean ocean caves, there huddled a single figure. The cave system was unmapped and unknown to anything except the local wildlife. The creature was molting, growing into something larger than it had been. For hours it remained like this, as the city far above was racked in chaos, but as the final detonation shook the city and the chaos ended...it began to stir. Sensing the death of the two creatures up above, this new abomination entered a new biological phase and once again fell into a semi-hibernation. When it awoke again, a gigantic egg sac had grown from it, supported by strong, resin-like supports. The egg sac quivered and out the end a single egg emerged...identical to those found by the ki'jan explorers. As the newborn inside grew and began to stir, the creature gave out a roar of triumph. The ki'jan did not know it yet, but the Hive was not yet close to beaten. The Hive would endure, it would survive as it always it did...and when they were ready, the Hive would emerge once more and prosper. The clock began to tick as the doomed city returned to normalcy...
The Hive always prevailed.
