I expect this game to be relatively flawless. A game that has no corporate interests involved is a game for the PEOPLE!

Roberts could become the corporate interest himself.

I'm not even surprised anymore. In the beginning it felt like "Holy excrement this game has pulled in millions!" But now it has gone over to "Oh look, Star Citizen has pulled in another million bucks. That's nice."

Never have I seen anything having so much money thrown at it.

Keep calm and move along.

Eh, I don't have that much faith in it as an MMO though. If it ends up like EVE where everyone can grief the excrement out of everyone...

All MMOs have something like that. I place faith in the single player aspect though. the multiplayer is like a side thing for me.

Wasn't the singleplayer just going to be like a demo for the multiplayer? That's how I understood it.

Keep calm and move along.

Demo? Nope. IIRC it'd be a fully fledged single player campaign. Dunno about the current state of it.

Some space games of old had some quite long campaigns to go through. Some didn't.

A "demo" for the MP side would have just a barebones short campaign.

And that's what I assumed it was, since it's an MMO.

Keep calm and move along.

I feel like most of the focus will be in the multiplayer, though.

Singleplayer will have a multi hour (I heard 24+) campaign if you do just the basic story missions. It will also support co-op if you wish it.
Also:

they just got 1.5 million in a single day.

Jesus, Mary, and Josef, I thought the daily donations would start decreasing now, not increase! Soon they'll be making $10 million a day, and then they'll be able to make the game, and then live in luxury for the rest of their lives!

24 hours plus for a space flight combat simulator? DAAAAAAAMN. Beats all these modern games with there 8 hour or less campaigns.

That is a campaign I can stick with, and co-op to boot.
