Why would you use a 1d100 for a roll that has a 33.33% chance for its results.....

Use a 1d6. 1-2 Telepathy Detected 3-4 Its noticed, 5-6 not noticed. However, the fact that you even have this good of a chance at success isn't a good thing.

I would say 1-3 is a fail, 4 noticed, 5-6 is a success.

True, I was thinking of adding a little more randomness into the rolls by going with the 1d100, but a 1d6 also does the job too. I was also thinking of doing a standard 2d6 as we use in our groups D&D games, but wasn't sure if it would work. Using that system it would be a 1-6 is a Detected, 7-10 is Noticed and a 11-12 is a Success.

Alternatively we could have his telepathy go against a Mental Check Roll to determine success, in addition to the other suggestions.

That would also work. Pretty much right now I've been trying to keep it as flavour text until I get a system down to make it not completely overpowered.

We could possibly start it off with a Mental Check to determine if I can even get into their mind or not. Couple that with a Detection Roll to see if they detect it and then after that whenever I'm doing Information Gathering I roll the 1d100.

Mental Check - 2d100, My roll has to beat their roll to get into their mind. Additionally I could give bonus' or detriments depending on if they are used to Telepathy or not, giving me a reason to not spam it so they dont build up an immunity
Detection - 2d6, 1-6 Detected, 7-10 Noticed, 11-12 Success.
Information Gathering - 1d100, Higher is better and what I get is up to the person.

Of course all the rolls will be my responbility to preform and manage. Don't want to burden you with my Race-specific trait.

Okay, just do it in the combat/action thread.

I am wondering about Rin's Meteor shower and my ion storm, will they be permanent hazards like the supernova or  will some other ship jumping in be fine?

No they're not permanent, you just had bad rolls, that's all.

Fair enough, if the ion storm was permanent too it would've really decreased the angles from where the Jakarti can attack me

Well you know...mental distress distinct from the mental distress from being brutally tortured in innovative and creative ways.

Torture, going into the mind of a crewman. This is going to leave a VERY bad impression.

I'm not sure how to read these rolls though, was your man succesfull Rin?

Yeah, he got in. Your guy is going to feel solved mental distress but will probably think its some unknown torture device

Oh, right now he's just observing. He telepathically connected their minds and he's just going to actively read your guys mind during the session. I just did my Information Gathering roll now and I'll be able to detect lies. So pretty much for now, just be in character. Do what your tortured XO would do

This is actually kind of sad, when you think about it

Wise, incase you were wondering, the scale I'm using is

1-25 Critical Failure (Telepathy Reverses Itself)
26-50 Regular Failure
51-75 Partial Success
76-100 Full Success

Pretty much everything above 50 is a success when I do the standard rolls, everything below 50 is a detriment to me. I'm hoping I dont accidently roll under 25 because then we run into some interesting fumbles where the effect reverses itself. Instead of getting your coordinates, you would get a partial of mine :o

I figured the rolls worked like that.

And yeah, it is sad, you shouldn't expect a warm welcome. But then again, you may get a very hot welcome.

Well, I still got one last trick up my sleeve that would completely screw me over if I get anything under 75.

...Speaking of screwing things over... FUUUUCK, and that wasn't even the trick up my sleeve... which is now harder because I got detected

Edit: Well, my trump card failed. The -20 from the past two detections screwed me over. In fact, once the Kaveni discover that I actually tampered with memory, they probably wont be too happy.
