To save everyone the search, UK£ 1000 = 1 611.4 U.S. dollars
So yeah judging by the guide I'll have plenty of money for a decent rig.
Heck, I might have enough for the Outstanding category. :P

Potentially better cooling. That shouldn't be a problem unless you go with two video cards though. I've got a mishmash of parts that would fall somewhere between the "Outstanding" and "Great" categories, and the temperatures a more than acceptable in the HAF 912 recommended for "Very Good".
Ah, coolies.
Well I'll see what I can drum up for a rig and see if that is any good by running it by here. :)
Come look at my art.

Okay, so for £1000 I am thinking that I can easily get something from the "Outstanding" Category easily, probably basing it on English pricing as...pound sterling so I'll have to look around but so far I have this as the build as far as I know...

So...yeah could I get some advice on this and if you know of anywhere I can get better prices and ships to here then I would gladly take it. :)

This is the build so far from a very quick look on aria.co.uk:

HDD

Case
1) http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Cases/MIDI+Tower/Corsair+Carbide+Series+400R+Midi+Tower+Chassis+?productId=45485

PSU
This is where things'll get iffy...

I am not sure if these'll work because I don't know about the voltage difference much...
GPU

I am not sure on this part so could I get help on it please?

You can use an online PSU calculator to see if the PSU wattage will be enough to cover what you'll buy.

This is one, for example:

Okay, so what about this build?
http://www.scan.co.uk/savedbasket/2ca2abec11b7463fa6e756bd7ce001cf

I won't be buying Gaming Keyboard, Gaming mouse, and that screen though.
I have a mouse and a normal keyboard will do. :P

So...what about it?

Okay, so this should be the final stuff.

So...now all I have to do is see if I can find these for a cheaper price. :P

It seems like you have some pretty decent stuff on that list. My one question is this: Are you planning on overclocking your 2600k? If so, I would recommend a much better cooler (best air cooler for under $40, IMO, is the Cooler Master Hyper 212+).

Uh, no as I have no idea what that is. :D
This is my first rig so I don't want to do anything too strenuous with it.
Considering I will not be able to get it for a while and I haz little monies it will be kinda precious to me. :D

You should go with an i7 2600 (i.e. no K on the end) then. Bit cheaper, and the only difference is it's not so easy to overclock.

I thought over clocking was an optional thing you actually had to set out to do. :D

In that case I might get the fan BackerU suggested as it's cheaper than the one I currently have selected. :D

Hmmm, then it might be worth getting the one I have now...just in case I wish to try it in the next 3-5 years. :P

Overclocking is not for the faint of heart. It is optional, and it does bring an increase of performance, but as Donut said once here, don't overclock that which you can't replace. You literally run the risk of seeing your computer "go up in smoke" when you overclock it.

Oh then gently-carress it then.
No way I would ever do that.
Who would want to?
Seems stupid to me.

The risk is negligible if you read up on it a bit.

Anyway, that's why I suggested the 2600. Saves a bit of cash if you're not going to overclock anyway.

Is it the same in power then?
I mean if it's cheaper and the same power level then I might go for it.
If it's power capability drops with the price then I am not certain I'll change it.
But I have a few months to go to decide anyway before I get the money, just wish learning about the parts didn't make my mind derp..

They have basically the same performance. The only difference is that the 2600K has some things unlocked which makes overclocking easier.

If you don't really care about overclocking, the 2600 is really better as phonypapercut said.

Okay, I really need to get a parts list sorted for very soon because Uni is a month away.
So here is a list a friend of mine wrote up for me, might be the final one unless there can be some tweaks to it.

I would prefer if I can get things from America where parts are cheaper and easier to find...the only thing I need to worry about is shipping the parts to me here in England.
If there are ways they can be bought and shipped then good, if not I'll have to make do with England stores.
Here is the list, I have provided parts, price and a site in England I can get them from and a total.
This doesn't include a monitor or keyboard though, so if I can again get a bit of price knocked off it I'd be appreciative.

Good, good. If you have the cash, go for it. It's a good setup.

The mobo might need a BIOS update to support that processor, depending on the version that comes on it.

BIOS update?
As long as that doesn't cost me more money I'm fine. :D
Or I think I will be.

I have found a keyboard I might also be able to get that is classed as a backlit gaming one:
http://store.gameshark.net/Cyborg_V.5_Keyboard/4743/245

So...yeah might get that too.
I think this is going to be my list (as seen a few posts above) and I will be getting it when I get paid...which will leave me a short while to build it for the start of my course but it's not going to be needed for a while.
I am still umming and Ahing about this damn machine. :D

Because I need a time machine to make sure I have enough money and time...
I should be fine by october for definite....but I am not certain I'll need my PC for the start of my course or not.
