[/float] It appears that AMD has announced the delay (on December 30th, no less) of Mantle support for Battlefield 4, pushing the date to at least January of 2014. Though no specific reason was given, many people suspect it is in part due to the bugginess of the game across platforms and AMD waiting for things to be ironed out completely before devoting resources. Battlefield 4 is still the first game intended to have full support for the Mantle API, but it seems it won't have quite the lead time over other games that was planned.
"After much consideration, the decision was made to delay the Mantle patch for Battlefield 4. AMD continues to support DICE on the public introduction of Mantle, and we are tremendously excited about the coming release for Battlefield 4! We are now targeting a January release and will have more information to share in the New Year."
Following that topic, DICE recently
stopped work on all future projects, including Star Wars Battlefront, to provide full support and apply fixes to Battlefield 4's problems. Seems like EA is allowing DICE to properly finish their work this time. Let's hope that
Battlefield 5 turns out a little better?
Any comments?
