<CaptainJean-Luc> Doc: You have ruthlessly high standards.
The name of this catch is Battlelog, and it's by far one of the worst ideas in videogame history.
Yeah, from what I've seen I agree with him. Forcing people out of the game to change servers is just too plain dumb.
Yeah. It seems Battlefield 3 isn't worth buying. will have to inform my brother.
Fortunately I have Uncharted 3 in the queue for my console gaming. It'll be a much better purchase. Damn shame though that BF3 is having all these teething problems. It had the potential of being a really good modern war game. Instead it's something...lopsided.
That Jim Sterling fellow has a reputation for attention seeking by giving popular games relatively low scores. Not saying his complaints aren't legitimate in this case (haven't played the game), but it's something to be aware of.
This review is crap. This is whining about menus not gameplay.
7.5 is a lot more than it should get, i'd give it a 4
Unnecessary menus.
True, but that doesn't mean the game is bad, it just means EA is a bunch of pricks.
Yeah. EA are a bunch of dicks, and yes the game is awesome. sadly there are those pesky unnecessary services that are required for you to play the game. This can be by-passed by playing console version, but then you lose the size of the PC battles and the Intense Graphics.
Sounds to me like EA is trying to push the console versions in a way. Also, it is well documented that the people at EA are a bunch of douche-bags.
The fact that EA is patching console before PC says that they are getting a LOT of money to support the console version first. I remember 6-7 years ago when Battlefield 1942 was out and everyone loved EA and Dice, now EA has corrupted Dice in addition to itself.
You folks do realize that Battlefield 3 was designed SPECIFICALLY with PC's in mind, don't you? From all accounts, the console version is having far more problems than the PC version, at least as far as server connectivity goes.
